Craze Rumours And Hurraw Review

Hi there!! Today i have 2 new great lip product to share.
About 2 weeks ago, this nice lady from www.makeovernow.com.my approached me if id like to try out 2 lip products they carry. I accepted the offer because i'm a total sucker for lip products, it is no doubt my most favorite item amongst all beauty products.

First up is a lip balm called Crazy Rumors in the flavor of Orange Creamsicle.

I loveee this one as the lip balm is nothing like what i have used before. The texture is creamy and moist. The scent is fragrant....this one smells a little like orange cheesecake.A Creamy orange. It felt great and fresh when applied and is able to last quite a while. I truely fell in love with this as after using it for couple of days, my cracked lips healed and does not peel off that easily anymore.
I must say that i'm impressed and will definately recommend this to others.
The best part of this Crazy Rumors lip balm is that it is made from natural ingredients as well as cruelty free and vegan.

Next up is called Hurraw!

This is an .15oz tinted lip balm and the flavor i got to try is Black cherry. I love tinted lip balm as it gives color to the lips without being overdone. I will normally just use a tinted balm instead of full colored lipstick as it gives me a much more natural look. What strikes me most about Hurraw is its packaging. Unlike most lip balms, the shape of the tube is oval. Its kinda flat and broad thus is makes a great little gadget to keep in ones purse.
Black Cherry is quite a dark color. However, when glide on my lips, it gives me a light maroon.d The color is very nice and in fact, i thought its just the right color for me. However, I don't quite like the scent of cherry. It does not smell a nice as the orange creamsicle from Crazy Rumors. Perhaps that's just my personal preference. I guess i'm more of a strawberry person than cherry. However, this lip tint totally come up top on my most favorite liptint till date. I've been using this religiously for the past 2 weeks or so and i still love it.
Hurraw balms are also made of natural ingredients, organic and vegan too.

Do give these two product a try as I highly recommend them.
Head over to http://www.makeovernow.com.my and give it a go. You have plenty of flavors and choices to choose from, hope you love them as much as i do mine!

Much Love,

TheFACEShop Touch & Shine Dual Eye Color

I must admit, this is my first ever purchase from TheFACEShop! Usually I never step into the shop for it felt like its an expensive shop! But boy am I wrong! The price isn't expensive at all! The price range is actually pretty reasonable.

I bought this dual eye color which is a combination of eyeliner and eyeshadow. I took quite awhile to choose the color i wanted because all of them looked pretty! Initially i wanted to get the one with black liner, but the combi colored shadow is either white or silver, in which i had just purchased a white crayon shadow. Soooooo........I ended up with a Purple liner and Pink shadow combi. I had forgotten that I just bought a purple liner! haha....blur me.
Anyhoo....no regrets. The color is BEAUTIFUL! Im definately going to get me another 1 or 2 of this. I liked the gold and bronze combi as well as the black and silver one too.

Brand: The Face Shop

Cyber Colors Auto Glitter Eyeliner Pen

After 2 years I finally started using eye makeup again!
Ever since i got pregnant, I started using lesser and lesser make-up because I didn't like the idea of having chemicals around my baby. So I only do what's necessary to cover up my imperfections like using bbcream and some concealer and a lipgloss/balm. Thats it. I totally neglected my entire make-up collection especially my poor mascara have all gone dry! hehe.

So now that she's a toddler, I have more time for myself and I can certainly find an extra 5 minutes to do up my face. Starting this year, I have decided to add eye-makeup into my routine again and thus been buying a couple to start-off.

First up, this is something that I like. Its from Cyber colors. As the name states "Cyber Colors Auto Glitter Eyeliner Pen". It is an eyeliner. And its an auto retractable pen so i do not need to sharpen it. The packaging looks neat. I love the metallic look of the pen. It is steady to hold and glides on easily. Actually i use it as an eyeshadow instead of a liner. I prefer my liner to be black and darker. Bought them at sasa. More details below.

Brand: Cyber Colors
Name: Auto Glitter Eyeliner Pen
Color Code : 3, Violet
Price: RM24.90

Eucerine Anti acne Solution

31 Years and a baby......... I'm shy to say that I am STILL battling acne! Can you believe that?
I'm constantly battling acne ever since I was 18 and have perhaps tried every solution in the market. Thousands of ringgit later......I finally found something that I "THINK" is one of the best facial wash for acne prone skin like mine. Its the new acne range from Eucerine.

I haven't got the chance to take a picture, but it is basically the range in Green. I bought the cleanser called DermoPurifyer Cleanser. After using it for about a month now, i realized that I experienced lesser breakouts(even during PMS). Which is a marked improvement! I also realize my skin felt cleaner and smoother too. I'm really satisfied with my purchase. And its a over the counter product, which means "cheap" too! Though the price isn't exactly cheap as compared to other counter products, i still feel that it is value for money. I bought mine from Watsons, and i hope to drop by and get the other products available in this range such as the Toner and the moisturizer too.

Hada Labo

Recently many beauty blogs have been reviewing hadalabo, though im not one of the lucky ones to get to try them for FREE ever since i've neglected my blog, hehe...however, i have long been intrigued by hada labo ever since guardian carried them.

Boasting to be the No.1 selling face lotion in Japan (1sold every 4 seconds) totally caught my attention because well, i trust the Japanese especially in beauty products and food. :) Hey, look at them! they are one of the longest living people on earth.

And so, i recently bought a box pax that consist of a foam wash, toner(they call it lotion), and moisturizer. Cost me about RM89.90. Later i also bought a night serum for dark spots for about RM59.90.

After using them for a week, i think it suits my skin as the lotion(toner) is one of the mildest that i have used so far. It does not sting when apply on the skin. No alcoholic feeling nor smell and it is very subtle on the skin. The moisturizer is great too as my skin feel very well hydrated after a nights sleep. The face wash is ok....nothing great in my opinion. Just like any other normal face wash.

As for the serum, i probably need a couple more weeks to see if it actually works on my dark spot so i'll give it a different review later.

The verdict. The toner is highly recommended and the moisturizer too! Great product.

Two New BBcream (Elianto and Silkygirl)

I love my skinfood BBcream the most as i believed it helped clear my breakouts.
However, I still like to experiment on new BBcreams. For the recent months, i had tried out 2.
The first one is what i got from Elianto. There are two types of BBcream. 1 is the normal tube type and the other is the one i got, which is the balm type. The reason i got the latter is because I was really looking for something that is waterproof and does not smear. The SA told me that the balm is water resistent but the cream is not. Thus, I bought this to try.

Hm....I was quite disappointed with this one as the coverage is really very minimal. Though it does not smear after a sweat, but....the coverage is just too light that i still have to top it up with my Revlon foundation. I can even do without it as it cannot even act as a concealer. However, i perhaps will keep on using and see what happens later. Cos perhaps ....as with all new balms....the top of the balm is still quite hard and difficult to scrap off the pack.

As for the silky girl BBcream, i bought it because I was curious, and also as with all silky girl product, very affordable. After a trial run, I really like that it is almost as heavy as a foundation thus the coverage is good enough to skip applying foundation. It also have a matt powdery finish which makes your skin look flawless. I like. However...as to much disappointment for me....it melts away too easily upon contact with water, which is a nono for me. I sweat buckets!! And i hate my makeup to smear!

As a mama to an infant, i only can afford to use waterproof make-up because I can't afford for my baby to accidentally touch my face and ended up eating all those chemicals. So, Revlon Colorstay foundation is still my no.1 make-up of choice because it does not come off easily. In fact, it lasts for a whole day and even takes effort to remove them! But, i'm still looking for a BBcream that does that for me because I notice that the Revlon Colorstay(though i've been using it for perhaps 8yrs) makes me break-out. Like duh...i only noticed it recently after using for so many years! hehe

So...the quest is still on! Next on my shopping list.....BRTC!! :)

Sasa Mascara

Remember the Sasa mascara that i bought? RM39.90 (20% discount)???
Well, very disappointing...
I wasn't impressed the first day i used it. However, i delayed my review since i was willing to give it a couple of shots....

After a few days of using them......i was disappointed.

The packaging was great!! it looks chic....and very pretty.......pink like the color of a sony vio! with nice motifs in white.
Two sided, 1 mascara base, the other in black.
Well, I have used Maybelline XXL mascara and it works wonders! Simply AMAZING!!!! though it is abit bulky for my liking.......Nonetheless Maybelline XXL is no.1 mascara on my list till now.

The second one of such (with mascara base on one end and color the other) that i've tried is of Silky girl. I was willing to give it a try because Silky girl was damn cheap. It does not work as well as the Maybelline XXL. However, it does make my lashes longer and is better than the one from Sasa.....and much cheaper also.....

The sasa mascara does nothing for my lashes. The makeup base does not elongate my lashes much at all.....
Of course it does what a mascara does.....blackened the lashes and all......and the good thing about it is that it does not become clumpy......
But i was unhappy with the effect.........its just a mehhhh for me.......anyone have better luck with it than me?

The Body Shop-Oil Free Foundation SPF 15

I'm currently using Revlon Colorstay foundation, which is by far THE BEST foundation ever! So i'd be using it as a benchmark whenever i try other foundations.

I prefer liquid foundation as to cream because it spreads easier and covers better.
I wanted to try out this oil free foundation from the body shop and as i am a member, i was entitled to 20% discount at that time of purchase so i went for it.

After using it, i realize that this foundation is pretty good. I like it at that it doesn't feel heavy on my skin when i apply it. It smoothen out evenly and easily across the face. I don' feel like putting on a thick layer of stuffs on my face but yet it manage to cover-up spots and troubled areas much to my delight. It doesn't smell and gives a matte, shine free finish.

As much as i loveeee this foundation, the only down side about it is that it washes off easily. A weee bit tooo easily for me. My face practically melted when in touch with water. Sooooooo, i panicked whenever i felt sweaty for fear that my make-up will look ruin.... which is such a pity because i like the texture of this foundation so much! if only it is water-proof! or at least a little bit water resistant. It would be perfect!

Priced at RM65 for 30ml, i find that a little steep as Revlon colorstay is about RM55. However, with 20% discount, it came to about just the right price i would pay for a foundation.

CK Be

The other day while i was at putrajaya alamanda shopping after meeting up my clients...hehe...greatness of being a sales person is shopping freedom!! kekeke
I was over at Parkson fragrance counter.
I had wanted to look for my all time favourite CK Be.
The CK counter was having a give-away slingbag for CK One purchases....
It looked nice so i asked if i can get them if i bought CK Be instead?
But the sales person over at the counter gave me a shock with his answer.
He told me CK BE is DISCONTINUED!!
I wanted to cry!! I asked him are you sure??!!! he told me they ran out of CK be for a long time now and haven't received any replenishment....... i THINK he assumed that it is being discontinued...
Anyone knows if CK be IS discontinued or not???

Otherwise, Id probably grabe a dozen of them over at StrawberryNET Cosmetics
.
After looking at the contents of CK Be, i realized why i love the scent so much. Whitemusk and sandalwood as base and they have Magnolia spices in them!!! mMmmmmm..... Me likey...

Elianto One Touch Blusher

I must say that lately I'm falling in love with Elianto products more and more...
From the storefront and also the lovely Elianto product packagings, its really hard to believe that Elianto is our very own Malaysian product.

Recently I happen to drop by Putrajaya and Elianto have a storefront there. I like to drop by whenever i'm in alamanda because they have a pretty spread of nailcolors for only RM5 each.

This time around, I discovered a really cool product!! Which is the Elianto One Touch Blusher.
Truth is, i dont have alot of blushers.... I have one in ginger from beverly hills.......man this little tub can go on forever....been using this for the past 10 yrs!! For pink, i use my dior compact. Other than that, I have my estee lauder which I have never touched before...and for carrying around, I have my favorite Loreal Delice. On lazy days I go without blushers but lately, i've make it a point for me to swipe some over my cheeks for some glow.

Take a look at my new elianto blusher. Its in shade 06 Brownee. I love the shade....very natural and easy to apply too. Just shake the tub a little and then dab it on your cheeks. Even out the colors and you're done. I love this innovative and unconventional packaging. And its cheap too! Only RM15 each! (less than USD5) For fellow beauty addicts.....Its definitely worth a buy.

Garnier Light Gentle Clarifying Foam

[picture frm www.sasa.com]

This is the Garnier Light Gentle Clarifying Foam.
I have been using Estee Lauder perfectly clean facial wash daily. They retail at about RM80.
As im running out of it, i've decided to grab something while I was at the local pharmacy.
As i've been seeing Zhangziyi on TV for garnier commercials and i thought hmm....garnier....some brand that never caught my attention before....perhaps i should give it a try....so i bought a small tube at about RM5.90 (i think....cant remember exactly).

After trying them for a few weeks now, i think its quite alrite....the scent is of lemon, but not too strong so you dont feel like you're washing your face with dishwasher! aha!...that was what i think of lemon scented facial washes.......My skin felt clean n fresh after a wash and the best thing about it would be the cheap price tag!
Overall i'd give it a 3.5/5 rating. Wouldnt have bought it if it werent because of zhangzixi! hehe...gotta love her skin.

St Ives Clay Firming Mask

[source: amazon]

Sometime ago I reviewed St Ives Hydroxy "Peel-off" mask......though I hate the sticky feeling, i must say that i love the mask. However, i'm more of a "clay" person as i often prefer clay mask than the peel-off type. So recently when i was in guardian pharmacy i saw this mask near the counter going at some discounted price (sorry cant recall how much i bought it for!)

I must tell you, i love it. It doesn't cost a bomb and it can last pretty long. I keep mine inside my mini fridge to give it a tingling cooling sensation while i apply them. This facial mask is made with mineral clay which cleans deep while it firms and tightens the skin. I'm actually having them on while im typing this. :)

Rating: 8/10

Why I love it?: 1.Cheap 2. i just love clay

Why I hate it?: hmm......none at the moment

The Body Shop New Fabulous Mettalics Limited Edition

Lately I bought some new cosmetic items....and am most happy with my purchase from The Body Shop.

I just love love love this new eye-makeup I bought two out of 3! Bought the Green and the Gray metal one. I just love it!! Very easy to apply......nice dark n shimmery colour too!! i didn't get the bronze one cos i thought the color doesnt really compliment my skintone. :)
I'm just a little disappointed at the limited choice of colors.

Other than that, I also bought the precious Rouge lipstick.

OMG!! love love love the packaging......the color of the lippy is also very nice and feels nicely moisture throughout the day. I love the multi-facet-color of the casing.
The its not at all that expensive. I got a 10% off buying 3 items. :)

Cooling Cucumber Pads

SmallTalk :
Sorry gals, Update have been sparse.
Weekdays are getting more exciting & things are picking up at work. Am not complaining, i love the challenge. The boss finally assigned me some task. Boy i love the feeling of starting afresh.
Its a new start. Hopefully i will perform well and ace at my work.
Cant' wait to go for training to familliarize myself with the new products.

So...........before we start a new week tomorrow. Let me do a quick review on this cucumber pads that i bought from sasa.

These cucumber pads are really 'cool'!! note the pun.....
Basically if you lead a stressful life such as mine, your eyes tend to swell up and look puffy in the mornings. Either that, or you have dark circles that needs the help of a concealer.

I discovered these pads at sasa during one of the promotions sometime ago.
These pads are stored in a jar.
24 of them, all Fully moisturized.
I love the jar, it comes with a small little tweezer for you to pick up the pads with without using your fingers, which to me is very hygenic. Love that! These people are so thoughtful.

The brand is SkinLite. The price is RM17.90.
They work exactly like the real cucumber although i do feel that my eyes are more relaxed after using them. But I think it would work even better if you have them stored in the fridge.

Transparent Gel Mascara

Have you girls ever heard of a Transparent mascara? Do you use it frequently?

I reckond that most have not heard of transparent mascara before.

Well, I happen to know of its existance while i was a college student and working at a giftshop in the evenings and on day-offs.
There was this lady who is a full-timer called stephanie. Stephanie was much more older than I was thus she never cease to amaze me with the stuffs she put on her face.

So one day, steph left the counter to me and told me that she needed to go buy something.
And she came back with this Mascara from TheBodyShop. And I was so intrigued that her mascara was.......transparent!! hmmm.....hey 10 yrs ago, the only colors available for mascara's are Black and Brown!!! So that was the first time i've seen or heard of a transparent mascara.

Seriously untill now, I havent the slightest idea what transparent gel mascara's are for!!
haha....but i did some googling and apparently, gel mascaras are for you to tame unruley lashes as well as eyebrows too. It sort of works like "hair gel". And apparently putting them before your colored mascaras is a standard best practice.

No doubt mascaras can do wonders to your eyes...but they are such a pain too. Especially towards the end of the day......therefore i really love the idea of a transparent one. So, i actually bought the only transparent mascara available in Sasa. Which is this one. The brand is Jordana (And No that is not my skin behind. It is my Estee lauder vanity case). I actually find it to be very usefull. No mess!! No Stress!! haha.....i just curl my lashes and then apply this transparent gel on....wait a little and curl again....
perfecto!!
I truely recommend transparent mascara for a quick make-up dash cos it is totally fuss free.

  • Product: Transparent Gel Mascara
  • Brand : Jordana
  • Make : USA
  • Bought from : Sasa
  • Price: RM 16.06

Acuvue Define Daily Contact Lenses

I
have been using Acuvue daily disposable for sometime now. I bought about 3 boxes so far from the shop i frequent at 1Utama called MOG. I never buy the Acuvue Define because the pricetag was rediculous. I can't remember exactly the price but its something like RM120/box with 15pairs (30 pieces)Retail price is RM140/box. Imagine how much I need to spend per month if i use them every day?? a Freaking RM240!! That alone can get me a new pair of glasses per month.

Well, The Acuvue (normal ones) is not exactly cheap either. I bought them at RM90/box (Retail price RM100/box). I only use them as and when I don't feel like wearing my glasses. Perhaps once or twice per week.
I really cant afford to wear them daily. Its like I'm spending RM6 per day!!! ouch to my wallet leh!!

Recently I bought another 2 boxes of Acuvue totalling up to 5 boxes of Acuvue that i've purchased, Johnsons&johnsons had this promotion that entitled me for a free box. And I can choose the Acuvue Define for FREE. Which was great.
(Too bad they discontinued the promotion already)

So whats the difference between the normal "Acuvue" and "Acuvue Define"??
Take a look at the second picture above. Acuvue Define have an additional black color "ring" to the lense. It works like colored lenses, but the purpose is to enlarge your kornea. The optical illusion makes your eyes seems larger. You know, good for girls who wants to look super kawaii a.k.a japanese/korean cutesy girly look. cue "act cute, open your eyes as wide as possible, suck in your cheeks, minimize your lips...look upwards....tilt head slightly....."ok u get the drift... :> hehe

Suprisingly the lenses is quite comfortable. The ring does not get in the way of your vision, unlike colored lenses that often does that.
However, i do find that the ring although not exactly "black" it is slightly "grey" still look too black for my eyes. I have dark brown eyes, thus the "ring" kinda look visible when i look closely. But not obvious at a distance.
I believe they come up with a newer version of "define" having the "ring" in brown instead of black. But I haven't tried that one.

Sasa Lipstick

With so many lipticks in my possession, most of them are either in the color Nude or Pink.
1 or 2 in peachy orange, 1 or 2 in maroon. and only 1 in purplish tone which is one of my favourite Revlon Moisturestay in "Violet".

I was looking for a lipstick with the similar purple tone and eventually settled on this lippy frm Sasa brand. It wasn't exactly cheap at about RM26 or so. But I like the packaging.

If you look closely, the top of the lippy cap is a reflector that can be used as a small mirror. The color is very nice too. Apart from lipsticks I bought myself some other stuffs too....I'd probably review them seperately.

Happy Labour Day people and enjoy the holidays!!!

Tresemme Saloon Shampoo

I wanted to change my shampoo because I was getting bored with Sunsilk already.
While I was browsing at the Watsons isle and isles of shampoos.....i overheard the young girls talking about this shampoo and about how nice the fragrant is....

So, that made me curious enough to check out this shampoo.

Frankly speaking. If it had'nt been the girls, I would never take a second glance on TRESemme!!
Reason? Simple. UGLY PACKAGING.
hehe...
You all should know by now that I'm such a sucker for pretty things!!! I hate using UGLY things......i know i know.....i understand the basic rules of "don't judge the book by its cover".
But....but............OKlah...I gave it a chance wat.....I went and buy it anyway.
hehehe.....Thats because I thought the shampoo smells really nice. And the no.1 thing for me to consider a shampoo is the fragrance. It has to make me smell like a princess and not some medicated smell of herbs ....yucks.....

Been using TRESemme for the past few weeks and its been good thus far. The one i bought was for anti frizz. Its actually pretty good. I suppose the packaging is kinda UGLY because it is suppose to be saloon shampoo where it is used by professionals and not for the general public. But now that they do sell to the public, i suggest some re-package to attract people like me. :)

Estee Lauder - Sparkling Clean Purifying Exfoliator Mask

Review:: Estee Lauder Sparkling Clean Purifying Exfoliator Mask

Thanks to a Suan, The PR Manager of Estee Lauder came to know of my existance. Due to my being green-eyed over Suanie & Fireangel with all those free Estee Lauder stuffs & Beyond Paradise perfume giveaway....... I dropped a comment on Suanie's review and the next thing i know it, Jean dropped me an email to invite me as a product review panel of bloggers. OMG!! I was totally overwhelmed. If you are my regular reader, you'd know how much I am into Estee Lauder. I'm such an Estee Lauder advocate mainly because I totally believe in their products as I've experienced the difference and the result speaks for itself. So, a humble little blog as mine was given a chance to review a new product line due to release in April 2007. *yey!!*

(proof that i use Estee Lauder. oh..and these are not ALL yet....)

Estee Lauder believes that every skin type has its own cleansing needs therefore there are 3 new types of exfoliator for you to choose from:
1. Sparkling Clean Purifying Exfoliator Mask = For oily skin
(This time, Estee Lauder have been very innovative and came up with this brilliant idea of combining an exfoliator and a mask into a single tube!! Yes, 2-in-1, dual-purpose tube. However only "Sparkling Clean" is dual-purpose and serves as a Mask. The other two are just exfoliators.)

2. Perfectly Clean Fresh Balancing Exfoliator = Normal/Combination skin
3. Soft Clean Moisture Rich Exfoliator = dry skin

So Jean got me the Sparkling Clean Exfoliator Mask to review.
I tried them over the weekend. I find that it works well as a mask. Very cooling.
The exfoliator is rather gentle so it can be used daily. But personally i do not recommend daily exfoliation. It can be hard on the skin. Perhaps alternate days would be better.
The scent is mild although i find that I can distinctly smell the cucumber.
After applying it as a Mask, I find that my skin felt very smooth and suprisingly does not feel dry out. I have this problem with mask that sometimes after washing them off, I can feel dryness on my skin. But I do not have such experience with EL which is a real plus point.

Sparkling Clean Purifying Exfoliator Mask, Perfectly Clean Fresh Balancing Exfoliator and Soft Clean Moisture Rich Exfoliator will be available at all Estee Lauder counters from April 2007 and will retail for RM115.

Some Facts for your information:
Sparkling Clean Purifying Exfoliator Mask- Oily Skin
This invigorating dual-purpose exfoliator and mask is specifically designed for oilier skins concerned with excess sebum and shine. Formulated with Estee Lauder's state-of-the-art teachnology and ingredients, the fresh citrus-scented Sparkling Clean Purifying Exfoliator Mask leaves skin feeling refreshed, clarified and 'deep down' clean.

Ingredients:
  • Kaolin Clay helps to absorb excess surface oil and unclog pores without stripping the skin of vital moisture. The appearance of pores is minimized; skin looks matte and feels revitalized.
  • Lemongrass,Cucumber and Lotus Flower provide benefits to help purify the skin.
  • Oil production is regulated thanks to Saw Palmetto Extract and Marine Algae Extract which deliver oil control benefits.
  • Microcrystalline Wax Beads, which are slightly larger granules, work to gently remove surface dirt and flakiness melting slowly with at skin temperature for better emoliency.
  • Smaller, softer, spherical beads of encapsulated Silicone/Dimethicone Beads dislodge pollution and impurities from the pores, bursting to release the skin conditioners.
Directions for use:
For everyday exfoliations, massage lightly onto clean damp skin, applying light pressure in small circular movements, avoiding the eye area. As a deep cleansing mask, smooth onto face using light preassure in small circular movements, leave on 5-8 minutes, before rinsing off. Use one time per week.

PS: Estee Lauder promotion. FYI.
