Christian Dior Warehouse Sales- The verdict

As planned, I manage to go to the CDior warehouse sales on Saturday albeit i was a little late, but i made it nontheless. Which i think it is a good thing because of some last minute price slash(further reduction) but the down side of being late is that all the good stuffs are already sold off.

It was at Coronade hotel, next to Lot 10. The warehouse isn't all that big. Just a very small part of a ballroom i'd say. only 1 row of desks from front to the end. And another row of cashers. Thats all.

Items selling are such are cosmetics, fragrance(not much) and skincare.

It was indeed a very good buy, especially skincare and cosmetics. The Christian Dior lipglosses are all going at about RM25. Which is equivelant to the price of a normal drugstore lipstick. I went crazy over the lipglosses/lipsticks. I think i bought like 7 of them? It didn't help when The Fiance kept on saying buy la...buy buy all la...buy .....wah....I was like so shiok buy and buy and buy. I knew that it was really cheap because I just bought a Dior lipgloss last month off the counter and it costs me RM72!!!! and when i see the price RM25. I knew it was a genuine sales. Besides, Chrismas is around the corner and i can always give them away as gifts. So ada class man!!! Right or not? giving Dior presents. walauehh..

Besides lipglosses, eyeshadows and a blush.I also bought some skincare. This wan kinda expensive la but then outside selling at about RM300 here i get it for RM100 and below i think its worth the money for such a brand.

In the end i sorta spend a little more than RM500 that day. pheww.......good thing the paycheck is in. :)
At first fiance was paying, thats y he was like soooooo encouraging ask me to buy buy buy.....Then last minute the creditcard didn't go through n not enough cash so i paid for my own. chey..... :P

The verdict?
Great warehouse. Genuine sales. Greate buy and save alot of money because my load of approx RM550 is probably worth RM2000 if you get them off the shelf at the Dior counter.

Fashionasia gives thumbs up and looking forward to go again next year.

Slow day....

Its a slow day today. I'm kinda lazy to work today because I'm already feeling the holiday mood.
Well, most of my colleagues already took Monday and Wednesday off for next week so that they can have 9 days off! Wow....sounds so nice........only if you're going on a holiday or balik kampung la. If you are not doing anything......9 days is very boring you know!! Sometimes i don't understand my colleagues. They just plan to stay home and sleep the whole 9 days. I dunno, maybe its just me. I tak boleh tahan la i'm a workaholic wat. heh..

I didn't take any leave because i plan to come to work on Mon & Weds. I feel that the public holiday is sufficient for me to have good rest. Besides, while everyone is having fun and jollying around, I plan to do some re-organizing and clearing backlogs. Never a better time to do these than now. Besides, when everybody comes back to momentum, I will be terribly busy with this particular project i have been assigned to so i guess its best that i take the opportunity to plan the workflow before i actually go into it.

Anywayz,
to those who are celebrating the festivals.......Happy celebrating!!!
to those who are travelling...... Drive safely and remember better slow than sorry!!
to those who are holidaying..... Have fun!!!
to those who are gonna spend 9 days sleeping..........Happy Hibernating!!! remember to wake-up before christmas!! Ha!
to those who are as pathetic as me............gimme a high 5!!! *smack*

Sogo Preview Sales & other random stuffs

Last Friday was a public holiday for Selangor and so me n fiance had to go to KL to do some stuffs. Since we reached KL around noon, we thought well its lunch time so we might as well go find food and then go to settle our stuffs after lunch lor.

That day dunno for what reason it is so terribly jammed in KL!! why har??? all PJ ppl go down town kacau izzit? I guessed so.

Thus, we ended up in Sogo cos its nearest to our destination. ohmygoodnessssss.........the jam was terrible horizible...vegetableeee!!!!!!! Finding a parking space was a total battle. Sogo was jam packed i could hardly breathe...... yikes......and even if i could, i try not to breath. You know why? every inch also got people lei......and i hate the sweaty ppl smell........yuckssss. I don't know if
i'm agoraphobic or what, i just hate places with "people mountain people sea". Especially when everyone around me stinks.......i'm was soooo afraid they sneeze or cough in my face....eeeeks.

oh nowonder so many people, it was the Sogo preview sale.
Sigh, normally i kinda like to shop in Sogo during their sales because i find that they have lovely shoes. I signed up for the member card so that i could enter. But in the end i did not buy a anything at all!!! Why? cos the que was so blardeee long. I wont go to any preview sales anymore. I'd rather wait till the crowd subside and take my own time browsing through stuffs.

~~~ End of Sogo story~~~
Oh ya, girls, remembered i talked about the pink ballet flats i was looking for?? I saw exactly this
pair at the shop called Momoe at 1 utama. So pretty!!!!!!! (look almost like this lah but no heels n more sporty looking)
I wanted to g
I think i'm going back to check if they have ne
I like Men who is.............
1. Smart with high IQ and can strike up an intellectual conversation anytime and from whome i can get my questions answered.
2. Specky with short spiky-gel-ed hair
3. A men who knows fashion, brands and actually spends enormous money on them. (so gay!!! I know!!!! haha)
4. Earns a more enormous sum than the enormous amount that he spends
5. Slightly shy but tries to put up a front that he is not but we have xray eyes to see that he's turning pink.......sweeet.
6. Always dress neat n smart, never sloppy (so gay...)
7. Fair or slightly tanned but with beautiful skin (so so gay)
8. With a beautiful set of dimples when he smiles bashfully
9. Born with Big and deep set of eyes
10. Generous and have a heart for children and old people.
gosh......i think i like gay men more than straight men. LOL
Ironically, i think Mr.Practical only posseses item #1. Well, Thank goodness for that, else i may need to worry.
Mr.Practical is not Mr.Punctual
I've been with Mr.Practical for like 5 years now. If I'm asked what is his worst habit that i dislike about him i would say is his punctuality.
Ya, he is very bad at being on-time for anything. While we were in the initial stage of going out, i've waited for him countless of times, dress up nicely. Sometimes half an hour, sometimes 1 hour, sometimes 3 hours....it all depends. Now after 5 years..... i still have to wait for him. Yesterday, Our date is at 7pm.
6.45pm: I bathed, got dressed, sat on the couch. To pass time, i watched astro.
7.15pm: he smsed me that he is "on the way".
8.00pm. I was still waiting on the couch. I smsed him "ni hao guo fen la". He replied the sms that he is around the corner.
8.15pm: Arrived at my house
The distance between his house and mine? 10 minutes apart. You do the calculations.
hehe...of course there was no fuming session and no i did not show a black face. Well, cos i'm so used to it already i'm immuned. Now who says men is the one always having to wait for hours?
Farewell First Lady
Updated 5.19pm:
As the day drifted, I don't know why,
A tinch of sadness is felt,
The sorrow, as if a piece of fine fashion have left us,
The kebaya nyonya, yes the great kebaya,
Without a pillar, without a great motivator, without great love.....
Will it last......will it grow.....
Yes i'm sure.....we will make sure.....it will.......it must......stay on forever.....
Forever fashion.
~~Fashionasia~~
Fashionasia would like to bid farewell to our very own First Lady Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, wife of our beloved Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
"Datin Seri Endon Mahmood passed away on Thursday morning after a nearly four-year battle with breast cancer. She was 64. Members of the public can pay their last respects at Seri Perdana between 11am and 4pm."
-Quote from thestar.com.my
Datin Seri Endon was actively involved in our local fashion industry especially in promoting batik internationally. She is an important figure in the local fashion scene. I guess this year's MIFA(Malaysian-International Fashion Awards 2005) gala in November is going to be rather quiet without her gracing the event.
Our condolenses to Pak Lah and family.
PS: Like i've mentioned before in my previous posts. This month is Breast Cancer awareness month. I would like to take this opportunity to urge you again to please support breast cancer research. Buy some pink stuffs this month......browse through some websites that pledge to donate and buy some stuffs. This will contribute to the research for cure for breast cancer.
PEACE OUT
Reminiscing The Rebellious Nature In Me
I'm a goody goody and have always been brought up well mannered and well behaved and all.
Being a Full-time "kwai lui"(good girl) is not easy, but with that said, I'm not denying that the little devil does not exist in me.
Everyone is born with a rebellious nature one way or another, its just a matter of how much you yield to the little voice and how well you are able to take control over your emotions rather than letting it take control of you.
Yesterday I remembered something that triggered my memory of myself while i was a tween. Eventhough I was so very well mannered that i was every mothers dream daughter (serious!!), there were times when i was pretty adamant in my ways and pretty mulish and willful.
I remembered that i used to question why do i have to call my parents "mama" and "papa" while all the "cool" kids in the movies addresses their parents by their first name.
I wanted so much to be cool.
I wanted to feel grown up.
I wanted to call my parents by their first name.
I vividly remembered suggesting to my mother the idea of addressing her by her first name. heh..... Well, of course my proposal wasn't even taken into consideration as my mother threaten to disown my if i ever do so.
(Now, as i have international readers i guess its proper that i elucidate the fact that being the Malaysian or rather Malaysian Chinese that I am. Adults and Children are and can never be equal. Respecting the elderly is a very important expect of being a chinese. Its part of us, its in the blood. Its our nature. Respect is the very key of being truely chinese.)
Today, beeing a grown-up, getting married and perhaps becoming a parent myself in a couple of years time. I finally get it. I understand her so much now. It must have hurt her so much deep inside. Although it may sound trivial to some, but by putting myself in her position.... I felt the prick. I imagined having a little girl of my own and then i imagined her refusing to call me mommy. It struck a cord. How could i do such a thing to mom? I loved her to bits. But then? oh noooo, i wasn't happy at all, i thought i was right, I thought that whats in a name??? Its only a nameeee for crying out loud!! Crazy girl mini-fashionasia she is. Shame on you!!!
"I'm impressed"
These are the words uttered by my no-nonsense 2nd-in-position boss about me during the management meeting, as told to me by my immediate boss.
Amazing that the 2 words seems so much more precious than any amount of money, any form of increment or promotion can ever brought about.
Its just ecstatic!!!!
Fashionasia feeling high n haphaphappy!!!! *hick*
Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
If you havent already noticed, its pink everywhere!!
Yes, pink!! No its not just about fashion, its fashion with a cause.
This month of October have been declared as the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Have you noticed the pink ribbons? Ya, The pink ribbon is associated with the breast cancer awareness campaign. Why pink? well, my guess is that pink is normally associated with women. And also, there is this phrase that goes "in the PINK of health" ??
So its just obvious that
we are now encouraging people to think pink.
It delights me when pink is THE color. Because since the campaign, i can't get my eyes off the internet browsing for more pink stuffs!! They are so pretty!! The color is soft and sweet and although pink is not my favourite color, as a female i still adore stuffs in pink. ;)
Many organizations have pledged themselves to this campaign and pledged to donate some percentage of their revenue to contribute to the research for breast cancer, which indeed is a noble act. Estee Lauder and Avon are amongst those that have been active promoting and pledging for the cause. Aside from them, many designers as well as individuals have come up with variety of stuffs in pink especially for the cause and they are all such an eye candy.
Visit BCRF for more info:
About Warehouse sales
I received an email from 1 of my readers a couple days ago. Hey girl i hope you don't mind me replying through my blog here.
I quote part of her email here:
"........... i noticed that recently you seldon put in any warehouse sales post. please put in more and i would love to see you comment on it. thax............."
Fashionasia answers:
hey girl! thanks so much for reading! Ya, i seldom put up warehouse sales info recently. Why? Its because i MJ is already doing it at 1 of her blogs. So i thought well, why publish redundant info?... Just head over to her site at http://promotionsandsalesinmalaysia.blogspot.com/ to find out more about the recent sales activities. Another site that i frequent to find out about latest sales is http://www.forsales.net/
You gotta be selective in visiting the warehouses cos i've been to my fair share of them and some are kinda dissappointing with stuffs and clothes that isn't worth buying at all.........kinda like 2nd hand goods at times....
In my opinion, if there are too many brands involved?? i think i'd pass. However if its a in-house brand for example like the MPH warehouse sales or the yearly diethelm sales (i like the scholls warehouse sales or rather my mom likes it) hehe..... But seriously for working shoes i usually buy them there cos sandals costs about RM 120 i normally get them at around RM 70 during the warehousesales. That genuine sales to me.
Okie doks. Thats all ! if u have any other questions just drop me an email!!
Fashionasia out!
Where is the best place to go for honeymoon?
Recently my good buddy asked me where will i be going for my honeymoon.
Seriously, it struck me offguard. Silly me, why haven't i thought of a destination yet?
I have no idea where to go for honeymoon. Not that we've never put thought into the issue but we always ended up wanting to go to different destinations.
Fiance has a very "ahpek" taste (Note to ahpek : dont get offended hor.....).... he likes anyplace oriental like China or HK or Japan or Korea.
Me? I'm very banana and i like places like Europe, US or Australia. Although I have been to all these 3 countries before but that was kinda long ago while i was still studying. Besides, Paris wouldn't feel the same this time with different company. *wink wink*.....overthere u can do a french kiss without being stared at or drag to court ma........ Incidentally, I remembered my trip to Italy, I saw a bunch of school kids in uniform, i guess they were also visiting the Vatican City on a field trip. Then i spot a boy and a girl french kissing, right in the open.......... hehe..... I was also a teen then so i was amused. Hehe......sorry la I'm very jakun i never see ppl french kiss before what.......... LOL
OK now back to best honeymoon destination, Please those with much experience, do kindly drop me some advise, Thankew very muchiee!!!! kekeke
I'm thinking along the lines of:
1. Switzerland (I've been to a Europe tour and Lucern is the most unforgettable place to me!! its beauuuutifulllllllllllllllll.........i think Mr.Practical willing to settle for switz cos lotsa ppl saying its lovely n all)
2. HongKong (can go to the new disneyland. And also i'm willing to compromise with HK as long as i can go shopping.........need tips from spiritfingers for this)
3. The other side of US that i havent been to like New York? I've been to the west coast like LA, San Francisco...Hmm.... i'd love to visit NY and Florida. (butthen hor, US doesnt seem to be a good place to visit at the moment)
Pls don't suggest Bali. Not Safe.
Telemarketers should at least learn some basic curtesy
Today i received a call from some whocareswhatcompany in Singapore with a lady called Nicole.
She totally irritated me. Blueeeeh!!!!
Firstly she called and asked for my boss, so i told her he is not around. Then she asked for me. Then i said yes, i am she.
Then she started to tell me she is so n so from singapore so n so company running so n so campaign and wanna do some survey.
At that point of time i was rather reluctant already but oblidged.
Nicole Q1 : have you in any point of your life invested in something for your future (err...not exactly her words but she asked me if i got somesort of savings or investment kua)
Me : Nope
Nicole Q2: May i ask what category does your annual income belongs to. A. less than 15k USD B between 15k 30kUSD or C. More than 30K USD......
Me: (At this point, i felt very uncomfortable and don't feel like continuing this survey as i have no idea why is she asking me all these for. So i said.) I'm sorry i'm not interested in doing this survey...i'm very busy.
Nicole: blablabla....do you have a personal email address? Can you give me your peronal email address...
Me: no i'm sorry im not interested.
Nicole: Are you telling me that you are 37 years old and do not have any savings???
Me: (blardeee hell......... if u want to do survey at least get your facts right!!!!) I AM NOT 37 YEARS OLD
.
Nicole: you're not 37? ........ You're 35 years old and you're telling me you do not have any savings?? (in a veryyyy condescending tone)
Me: (GGGRRRRRR ......... I'm not 35!!! and when did i ever tell you that i don't have any savings anyway?!!! i say i don't make investment only what?!!!) I'm sorry i'm going to put down the phone, i'm not interested in whatever survey you are doing........*click*
phewww.......sorry girl but i had to put down the phone........you're very annoying......
she was still blaberring when i (very politely n even said sorry) slam the phone on her..........she was getting louder and louder.
I can decern that she was also annoyed by me. But then you should be more polite what. Who are you to tell me things only my parents should ever tell me?!!! COCONUT lah.........I feel very offended loh when a stupid stranger calls and ask me personal questions and then scold me that i'm 37 years old and dont have any savings when i'm a decade younger and i do have savings. Pttuiiii......
I keep on telling her i'm not interested and she insulted me further. Duhh.... At least the ppl from Citibank have more curtesy and knows when to stop. I get calls from Citibank all the time but when i told them i'm not interested, they politely say thank you.
Dont you just hate it when things like this happen? I think Nicole should get her scripts rewritten.
Watta way to kick off my week.
