Disneyland Malaysia?? Oh Puhleeeeaseee!!!!!

Latest Update 1st June : http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/6/1/nation/14410857&sec=nation

Ho ho ho.....so its not true now?? I think malaysian newspapers always confuse people ALL THE TIME. oh wait. or waas it the Malaysian government?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really tak boleh tahan anymore. I have to say something about this "damn smart" decision to build Disneyland in Malaysia.

Come' on lah!!!!! PLEASE THINK properly from all angles and not just oooh-ing and aaah-ing over other peoples Disneyland.

I have soooooooo many reasons why Malaysian should not build a disneyland i really dont know where to start.

But i think that the FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT factor to consider is

THE FREAKING
MALAYSIAN WEATHER!!!!

The heat here is unbearable. Scorching hot!!! And very often rainy, windy and stormy.

Now, is this kinda climate suitable for Disneyland????? NO!! Dinosourland yes but NOT DISNEYLAND. PERIOD.

I'm blardee agitated by the fact that they really really intend to build disneyland because i think the idea is absurd, preposterous.......well, just out right loony.

Can you imagine having mickey mouse and donald duck walking by the sidewalk of Disneyland under the humid and scorching sun..........poor people in the costume. Kids who suppose to hug them would probably shun away because "Mickey smells like a rat" @ @
And poor snow white....oh your porcelain white skin under the hot sun.........we'll have "Ms.Charcoal Black" instead of "Snow White" in no time.
Then we'd see all the disney characters walking by the sidewalk and down they go "timmmmmbeeerrrr"!!!!!!
falling flat on the ground due to dehydration.

Not to mention everyone who sits on the rollercoaster would probably get blisters on their behind from the heat from the metal seats.
Then the rides that is wonderfully colorfull....red, blue ...yellow...brightly colored will go discolored and fade in probably 3 years time. Then the mechanical parts may spoil easily due to abrupt change in climate.....hot cold hot cold hot cold.......

I can go on and on and on........

ARGHHH!!! Think properly before having billions go down the drain again!! PLEASE I BEG YOU ....at least do some research first.

Dude: "hey i want to go to Malaysia because i want to visit disneyland!!!!"
Dude 2: "like duuuuh........... Are you sure you're ok??"

I can and i do cook....just not as much as I ought to

I forsee my post would be rather sporadic for the coming month. Thats because I've been receiving lotsa invites for demo and presentation lately. Too much than i can handle actually, but you know me, i'm too dignified to decline them and i always take-on more than what I should. Being me, I think i'm superwomen. gah.......no i'm not complaining. This could be good. My big break may be on its way and i do sincerely hope that I'd be appreciated for the things that i do for the company, for once, someone please appreciate me?!

Anyway, come back to the entry, the thing about being married is that, you should automatically be capable of cooking up a meal that can feed a starving army. heh........nola just kidding, well at least you must be able to cook for the hubby lah!! This responsibility comes with the title "Wife".
I'm thankful that i'm blessed with pretty good cooking instincts, it comes naturally since i've been experimenting with baking and cooking since my college days and more often than not, my experiments gathered more praises than frowns. Though I love cooking, i have not been cooking as much as I ought to, perhaps once a week or once in two weeks, usually Saturdays. Most of the time my MIL cooks. Cannot dethrone ppl ma.....no goood. And i cannot just cook enough for 2 person, I have to cook for the WHOLE LOT of ppl. Which is not what i have been accustomed to. I have to really learn to cook ALOT because these people really can eat la!!

So being a goodie wifey, I went to the morning market on Saturday and bought some prawns, veges and pork ribs!!!! Now the prawn part and the vege part is no problem la, i love prawns and its my specialty, i can cook prawns anystyle. But pork ribs!!!!! i have no idea why i bought them because lord knows I never cook pork before in my entire life!!!! Even my experiment on bak kut teh I used Chicken!!!! haha.....

But being me, i have absolutely no recipe, just the picture of the outcome on my head. I decided to cook honeyglazed pork ribs. Hehe......
It turns out really swell.............i mix some tomato and chilisauce + kicap manis + kicap masin + good doze of honey + corn flour. Deep fry my ribs seperately and later on while the sauce is shimmering in the hot pan and thickens, dump the whole thing in. Yummieee......

Of course there is another trick. NEVER tell anyone that this is the first time you are cooking that dish. Pretend to be a pro. Then you will be well respected as one. Ahem....
So everbardee praise and praise lalalala.... Of course I also cooked curry prawns with sweet potato and Cabbage+springonion+pear.

The satisfaction on my husbands face = priceless.

Then after 2 days only drop the bomb and tell him. "my dear, you know i've never cooked pork before ah? that was my first time cooking pork"

" @@ !! Really??!?!?!?!"

hehe...unbelievable.

Oh and dont expect me to post pictures ok, my parents in law will think i'm cookoo. The only time you see them taking out a camera is when they are going on a vacation. :)

Too Old for Technology??

DaddyFashion bought some electrical equiptment lately and being the tech savvy "young" man that he is, decided to fill-up the warranty information online to be submitted instead of the old fashion "post" method.

Happily DaddyFashion were online clicking through the warranty pages, filling in serial number details, full name, address and so on. Then when it comes to BIRTHDATE. DaddyFashion got really irritated and told Ms.Fashion this.

DaddyFashion: eh girl, you know ah. I try to fill up the warranty information online but cannot lah.
Ms.Fashion: Cannot? why? did you follow the instructions?
DaddyFashion: Ya ya......got. I followed all the instructions untill i come to the BIRTHDATE part.
Ms.Fashion: what about the birthdate?
DaddyFashion: Well, they ask for my birthdate so i have to select the year. But........It only scrolls down to 1950.
Ms.Fashion: @@. [blank].........short pause. then HAAHahhaAHAHhaHaAHAHAHAHaaaaaaaaaa..... What lah?? They think old people dunno how to submit online izzit??
DaddyFashion: Yala!! then the latest date is 2006. They think baby just born know how to use computer but i'm too old.
Ms.Fashion: hahahAHAHHAHAahhHaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaa
DaddyFashion: .......

Oh goodness gracious me. Ms.Fashion really loves DaddyFashion. He is just the cutest 60++ year old man in the whole world.

In your head

Ya know, come to think of it. I have no idea why I only have about 211 post in this blog because i absolutely think that i have blog more than that over the year. oh right, i "blogged" in my head. Not here.

heh....Reading the post from my pal SC. about him talking to himself. I realized that i do just that too!! I talk to myself. And recently have been talking to myself "blogging" style. I would conjure words up on mind and speak to myself as if there is a whole crowd up there inside my head. I would tell myself stuffs as if i'm a stranger to myself. Am i making sense?
Well,i've come into conclusion that bloggers are mostly self-talkers. We talk to ourselves alot and often we tell stories, with the advancement of technology, we are now able to put our thoughts into words. Not only words but digital format too. With that, our regular customers/listeners who consist of only me, myself and i have now turn into a handful of readers, even all over the world.

I wont be suprised if one of these days my DAD would appear in my blog and leave a comment. However, at this point of time i appreciate the little space i have here to write and to sometimes whine. I'd rather be unknown. because where would i be able to express my teeth grinding moments with SIL, or discontentment in the work place without ever having anyone i know to know about it. :>

In your head, in your head, zom beh zom beh zom beeh eh eh eh oohhh...

Fade-Out for freckles and brown spots

1 of my reader Christine posted a question that i would like to address. Her question goes like this:

"Im currently also using Loreal SPH50. But the problem is my freckles still will appear after I apply it with my SPH30 foundation, is still the same. I thinking is there any solution to cure and prevent freckles, Ms Fashionasia. "

Note: I am not medically equipped to provide you solutions to skin problems. However, I'd like to share some of my personal experience and suggestions. I leave it entirely up to your discretion to digest the contents.

Firstly, "Is there any solution to cure and prevent freckles?"

My answer is, i'm afraid not. I do not think so freckles can be cured, however to "prevent" or "reduce" them i see as plausible. I reckon freckles comes with the genes. Of course, to ensure that i do not mislead my readers, i've done some research.

First of all, What are Freckles?
" Freckles are flat, circular spots that typically range in the size of the head of a nail. The spots develop randomly on the skin, especially after repeated exposure to sunlight and particularly in persons of fair complexion."

Solution to prevent freckles?
"Freckle prevention is obviously better than developing them and then needing to treat them. Therefore, anyone with an hereditary tendency to freckle -- who freckles easily -- should wear sunscreen whenever appropriate and also minimize their sun exposure. The aim here is twofold -- to suppress their tendency to produce freckles and, much more importantly, to reduce their risk of developing skin cancer"

Ways to Treat Freckles?
"bleaching cream"
Please read the article for more technical details. I know nuts about the scientific bleaching ingredients so i wont put them here on my blog. Well, because i do not endorse skin bleaching.

All the above are quoted from Medicine.net
Please head over there for more information.

Ms.Fashionasia never had freckles before so personally have not been using any cream of that sort. However, The Mom has it. And it being hereditary(touch wood) I did take note of what product she had been using.

Images from Antiaging-solution.com

Buy them online from Folica

Fade-out is a UK product. It is a treatment cream which gradually fades out unwanted freckles, age spots, uneven skin tone and brown pigmentation marks on the skin. My mom have been using this for more than a decade, so i reckon it must be pretty good. Perhaps you can give it a try.

Secondly, to address your question about
"freckles still showing even after applying foundation"

My guess is that, you are using water-based foundation which is quite liquidized.
There are couple of solutions to it.
1. Invest on a good concealer. I wrote a post on concealer before last year. I like the bodyshop concealer stick. Cheap.
2. After the foundation, apply a good doze of face powder
3. Buy a long-wearing foundation. The one that i'm currently using and would recommend is Revlon Colorstay range. The foundation is really wonderful. Hides all the ugly pimples crinckles and wrinkles and all the kles you can think of!! hehe

Tinted Sunscreen (for face)

Staying in Malaysia means you have to be able to tolerate extreme heat and scorching sun.

The sunrays are very bad for the skin. Especially for a person like myself that zips around town on normal afternoon under the blazing sun, I have to really take good care of my skin.
We all know that too much sun can cause sunburn, wrinkles, freckles, rash problems...etc.

Lately i discovered little spot
s on my face, seems like i'm growing freckles. oh horror of all horros.
Therefore i've been more dilligent to put on sunscreen before i go out in the morning. Unlike my usual regime of "dont care just splash on thick foundation will do" attitude. Foundation doesnt help your skin, they only makes it worst. Nowadays foundation comes with some amount of SPFs, like the Revlon colorstay that i'm using, It is SPF 6, which is good, but not enough. I still feel that a good sunscreen is vital to survive our climate.

Make-up is bad for our skin because it eats'em up. Therefore on weekends, i like to leave my face clean and if possible without make-up. However when I have to go out, i cant' go out barefaced as erm.....well, don't want the hubby to say i look like a "si lai"/auntie right??!
So i've discovered several products that is noteworthy for a casual day out-- Tinted Sunscreen

Tinted sunscreen is godsent! It works well like moisturizer, provide a good amount of SPF's and, its beige tint evens out your skintone so you can skip the foundation. I see it as a lite-version of foundation that allows your skin to breath.

The first of its kind that i discovered couple of years ago is from Eversoft. Sorry for the blur image but the wordings are
"Whitening Tinted Sunscreen Moisturiser SPF 35"
"Vitamin C, UV Sunscreen"

The eversoft one is by far the best. It is non-greasy, water-based. Can use it as make-up base before your foundation on regular make-up heavy days too.
Please don't be disturbed by the word "whitening". Whitening products doesnt make you fairer. The purpose for whitening products is actually to lighten dark spots and even-out the skintone. I dont' know why asian girls like to be fair. I like even skin-tone more than anything.

The Second product that i like is from PAN+ cosmetic

Well, this is actually an unintentional find for me. I happened to be looking at
hairclips in Sinma 1Utama and was approached by the salesgirl about PAN+ skincare that they are promoting. Normally i wouldnt give a damn. I just don't trust make-ups from sinma....those cheapskate kind .....i dont know. I guess i dont trust my skin on untested produce. I'd rather spend more on skincare that are dermatologically tested with well established test-labs, like Estee Lauder or Clinique...etc
However, i gave this a try. And, i was pretty amazed with the quality. For the sunscreen they have 2 colors to choose from.
White and Beige. The Beige is color tinted.
If you cant see the words on the tube, it says
"Blue Chamomile Oil,
Evening Primrose Oil"

"SS30, Sunscreen Cream (Beige)"

What i like about the texture of this one is that after application, you can feel a powdery finish on your skin. And your skin immediately feels soft and subtle to touch. I've been using this one quite often lately. I've taken to like it very much. I believe the SS30 means SPF30.

Lastly, I bought this one from Sunplay last year together with the sunscreen lotion before my trip to the beach.
er.....it is rather bleh because i don't like the smell and it feels funny. However the good thing about this one is that it is SPF50. I dont know what are the ingredients because the wordings are all in japanese. :P

If it weren't because of them sly car salesman.....

I would probably be driving a sportscar by now.

Yah the hubby's taken into buying mua, 1 of those cars with 3 syllabus names.
Great. I'm almost a complete bimbo sans blonde hair.

I shudder.

[Rewind (desi will say Gostan) and playback]

See during the weekend, the hubby brought me to view a sportscar.
The car was cool, beautiful and sleek and black. It was 2nd hand. Couple of flaws here and there but nothing major and very well kept. Hubby decided to follow-tru and thus began negotiating lah.

The chap, an Executive Director of luxury cars dealer was a very nice fellow, erm or i shall say seems nice only la...such an actor. Initially reluctant to budge, selling the car WAYYYYYYYYY pass market rate (of course we did our market study before hand la). After probably like an hour or so ding dong ding dong, we raise a bit and he budge a little....lastly we made our final offer and the chap accepted it. Shake hand. Done. Him promising to keep the car and not touching it anymore. Us agreeing to bring him a cheque the next day.

Following day we were unable to get him.
3rd day we called again. He never pick-up the phone.
Later in the day Mr.Executive Director SMS my hubby to tell him that He sold the car already for a higher price.
@&#^@!(#@#
Coconot or not you tell me??!!!
Now i've come to conclude that car salesman have no idea whatsoever about the meaning of "Customer Retention" or "Recuring sales" I tell you. I'm sorry i just have to generalize because this is not the first time i've encountered Sly car sales person. Most of them promise you bulls just to get you to buy the cars. Unlike owners themselves who sell their cars. We once also offered a certain price say $A to Mr.Owner and he was reluctant. Later he found a buyer willing to buy at say $b. He will then inform us about it and if we would want to counter else he will sell to the 2nd person. Now that is very ethical of Mr.Owner. I salute the way he handle his sales.

Coming back to Mr.Executive Director. Well Mister, just because we drove a Local made car over doesnt mean that we cannot afford luxury cars ok. The Proton is mine but hubby drives continental. You didn't know that didn't you?

1 thing being a blogger with a handfull of readers is that we have the power to defame and tarnish names of whoever we want. I so want to showcase the name of the company and Mr.ED's name here or perhaps share my experience with Paultan.org so that it will bring his business down untill he have to sell his last rolex.
BUT......i'm nice. Its against my principalsprinciples(tks desi guru). I'm not nasty. So i won't.

I'll let it be because.............i dont want a sportscar :P

Clothes For Men

I thank my lucky stars that the hubby is not Mr.Skin&bones.
That is because if he is, it'll probably be a great blow to my female ego. :P
My mom says that the hubby have the height and body of a male model. *pouts*...wish i could fetch such comments but well........tough luck, its just never ment to be. Asian height+western size is never a good combination!! kekeke

Anyway, i like it when the hubby wears a longsleeve sweater. It looks nice on him, therefore i've been on a mission to get him more of them. However I cant quite find good looking ones. The only brand that I could find that have sweaters are Camel Active and Renoma. Seed also have some nice ones as well as Nicole. Of course, the ones from Seed suits our local climate more because it is not too thick.

As for window shopping, I found myself some pretty cool looking clothes set to turn a plain joe hunkalicious.

From eLuxury:

Of course the most handsome model gets featured first! keke...
This is a jersey-like longsleeve. I like the boyish look on this model although im almost certain that he is indeed ....well.....just a boy. heh

this one looks quite casual and comfy but i dont quite like the crewneck

This one is simple and plain. What i like about it is that its 100% cotton.

OK i know this is a windbreaker but it looks good no?

erm....no comment on this one. Kinda like it and kinda like it not....?!?!

From Nordstrom:

The texture of this sweater looks too thick for our climate but it looks good nontheless. And the color makes the old look young. :>

Ok this is probably a golfers attire but i still like it.

But most of all i like it best when the hubby wears his powersuit. *wipes seliva"

So guys, if you're looking into revamping your looks. You can probably take these looks as a guideline.
But as the fashionistas say "its not what you wear that matters, its how you wear it." :)

My 2 piece Swimsuit

Lemme show you what was the walrus wearing.

Hmm...there were lotsa ang mor's(refering to the whites) around ferringgi area. And plenty of them where we stayed.Other than angmors there were plenty of arabians, ya those that cover every inch of their body cept for Beaaaauuuutiful eyes.......

we were probably the only asian around when we headed to the pool.

Hubby: "wei the angmor keep on staring at you la"

Me:"oh got meh" (actually i know la i just pretend dunno oni, hubby there what so no flirting with angmor...heh)

Hubby:"yalah.....the eyes follow you everywhere you go"

Me: "ya meh........ang more like asian ma"

Hubby: "i didn't look at his(meaning his wife) oso"

Me:"............."

************************

Hubby: "Why are the angmor ladies all THAT size wan har??"

Me: "Because all of them here are senior citizens."

Hubby: "......."

hehe....tuff luck, hubby din getto cuci mata cos 95% of them are senior citizens laa.
Probably thats why i turn heads. Bcos i'm a baby walrus!!! as compared to the many bigmama walruses around!!!
tsk tsk tsk...

Back!

Hey folks!! Ya I'm back from my mini holiday! Really enjoyed myself, its been fun to unwind and not thinking about work for once.
Well, Hows the Pearl Of the Orient?
Hot hot hot!!! Cannot tahan the heat.
Sorry cant find my cable so i can only make do with this photo i took from my PDA. Hehe....Not like if i find my cables i would showcase my pictures here anyway.....bruahaha...I mean, who would wanna see a walrus in a 2 piece swimsuit anyway? Exactly. Now scoot off.....nothing to see here...

Oh ya, I totally shock myself because I DID NOT BUY A SINGLE THING!!!!! *Gasp!!*
(ps. Theels: lemme know where's the little batik shop next time. :>)
The reason why i did not buy anything is because the gang that i went with this time around are non-shoppers but Eaters. I had to like.....somehow plot some plan untill the driver finally brought us all to the gurney plaza. However i was rather dissappointed cos i came back with nothing. :(
Secondly, the bazaar along ferringgi was selling lots and lots of batiks and souveniers for tourists. And well, i can get those stuffs at much lower price in petaling street.

However, i think i probably brought back an extra baggage of 2KG due to awesome gastronomic affairs.

Sigh.....good times never lasts long. Now back to reality......

Sleepless

Its almost 4.30am. And i'm still up. But back home.
Hubby is fast asleep now. I was sleeping awhile ago, took a 2 hour nap and i'm back up to finish off and print-out the spreadsheet.
Hubby was up till 3. And i slept till 3. Now he's in bed and i'm at the desk.
Usually he'll be the one engrossed with work with his laptop and i'm the one in slumber. But its quite the reverse today.
Is this whats life suppose to be?
Because if it is, then life suck.

I'M STUPID. I rejected a dreamjob. A job i desired so much. With people that would appreciate my existance and many perks. Especially training. Twice per year. And paid for certification too.

Here at my current company. The CEO said "We are not paying your salary to train you, we are PAYING you to work and contribute to the company, you want training? go back to study. "

I'm STUPID. Why am i still so committed to this crazy baloony job where the CEO thinkz peanuts of me.

I'm a crazy mad Nincompoop. Thats what I am.

I will ponteng work after i've done the submission and come back home to sleep.

Alone in the dark

Its 9.30pm, by the time i finish this post it'll probably be almost 10 and I'm all alone in the office. The last 2 colleague just bid goodnite.
Sigh....

All of a sudden, i smell something very fragrant. Smells like Nasi Lemak or something.......I dare not look where the fragrant come from because I'm freaking ALONE IN THE OFFICE OK!!! Its damn scary. The reason i'm still alone in the freaking office and is the last freaking person to leave the office is because I have a blardee tender to submit by tomorrow. Pardon my french people for I'm totally freaking out......I'm sure you can see this by the number of times the word "freaking" is appearing in the paragraph alone.

I remember those days when we use to go camping in the woods. We were told that if we ever smell some fragrance while hiking, just pretend not to notice and NEVER ask about it because.....well they say there are spirits lurking around and some lady spirits smells nice wor...
OK i shouldnt be talking about this cos...I'M ALONE and its SCARY. I'm SCARED.
er...Mom??

NIVEA Body, Intensive Moisturizer Milk

Time for some product review.

I bought a small bottle of this NIVEA Body Intensive Moisturizer Milk from guardian. I saw a small trial pack. I think it was merely 3 ringgit or so. Less than RM4.

I've always prefer NIVEA for body moisturizer I don't know why but i think its because of the texture of the lotion. Some brands are too watery, some too milky, some too sticky but i've always find NIVEA to be just right.

This particular moisturizer is for those with dry skin. It is made with Avocado Oil. The scent is soothing, not too strong. I can really feel the moisture on my skin even after a good night sleep. Those with dry skin should give it a try. I intended to let the hubby try them but he still haven't touch it yet, he probably prefer his bottle of Palmer's Cocoa butter, which is equally good too but just be caution that you would smell like chocolate after application.

Pic and more info from www.nivea.com

ps: the one i got have a slightly different wording. I guess its the Asian version. Instead of "Rich Caring Milk" Its "Intensive Moisturizing Milk". (Or something to that effect la must go n check. Don't sue me)

The Exquisite Kimono

I just finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha. And i must say that the book is absolutely wonderful. I love the story line, I love the way the author tells the story as a person -Sayuri.
I was totally entrigued by the story i thought it was real and i imagined a real person (old aunty) telling me her real life story....much like how Rose telling her story of the titanic.

Frankly speaking I thought it was a true story, untill i read the acknowledgement page. :P
The way the author tells the story made me feel as if im watching a movie, plus i've never been so intrigue by the way japanese dressed untill now. I must say that after reading the book, i've learnt to appreciate the kimono more than ever. The exquisite designs and the way its all put together, the effort just to look beautiful. My my, the way the geisha had to sleep in such a way that their neck is held-up so that it does not ruin their hairstyle.
Somehow it reminded me of the lengths that we women go to make ourselves pretty.

Similarly, I used to be a dancer back in the good ol days. And I remember 1 of the dances i was involved in was the chinese fan dance. During our performances, we would have our hair done in the saloon to braid our hair from top down. Even when the performance was scheduled at 8pm, we would have our butt at the saloon at 10am in the morning. It was totally a gruesome whole hour or two having your hair pulled and tuck and held in place with probably a whole jar of gel. What pain we had to endure just to have the perfect hair without a single strand of hair out of place. And that was the easy part. To survive another 8 hour or so without ruining the hair, phew that takes some skills too. Especially when you need your beauty sleep, how to sleep without touching the hair?? well, i've probably learnt to master sleeping headsdown without suffocating myself throughout those years. But you know what, when you're on stage and the performance went on well, and having people telling you how much they enjoyed watching you perform. The satisfaction is indescribable.
