Cyberview Lodge Resort and Spa

After a tip-off from Beetrice, I booked myself 2 rooms through the Internet because i know my family needed a break.
It was a great deal, The normal rack rate for the chalet was RM800. But now, they are having a special promotion for their 10th year anniversary and thus a special internet rate at RM188(188 because this is the price when they first launched), subjected to availability.

I manage to get 2 rooms, because it was non-peak period.

We stayed for 1 night only. Just a little family getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I did enjoy myself, but there were some hiccups that I wasn't very happy about.

But for one, I love their rooms!! It was extremely comfy and the one with the king size bed was huge! I'll show some pictures in a bit. We took 1 room with king size bed for me and hubby of course. And another room with twinbeds for my in laws....don't ask me why they prefer to sleep separately. kekeke...... The rooms were connected, which is great for family.

The rooms were totally up to par. They deserve the 5 stars they claim. Everything was provided, including toothbrush, loofah, shaver and cream....etc...
The room also come with a computer that is broadband ready. If you bring your own notebook, wireless connection is available too. This is a plus point to us! :)

However, almost midnight, the air conditioning at my in-laws room stopped functioning and it was hot. A quick call to the maintenance sent some people over to try to fix the aircond but, they didn't manage to solve it. So, we were requested to change the room. Thus, in the middle of the night my in-laws had to be transfered to another room a little further. So much for joining rooms.

But one thing that kinda pisses me off is that the next morning, my in-laws received a rude call from the frontdesk....telling them that they are " NOT SUPPOSE TO CHECK IN TO THIS ROOM. " and asked them " who gave you the keys to this room? this room is reserved for someone....why are you in this room?"
OK....this totally pissed me off lah. I mean, come-on. How could we get hold of the key to the room if not given to us by your own staff?? Its not our fault that the air-cond broke down and we didn't asked to change room. Your guys ask us to change room what.... sheesshhhh...... how Rude!!

Then, we went for breakfast in the morning. No complains there....the breakfast was quite pleasing. Though i still find the breakfast at Renaissance was better.

Oh ya, another thing is that when my FIL decided to go for a swim in the morning, they were washing the pool!!! aiyoo....so he just had a dip at the wadding pool. No chance to swim lo...... they should wash the pool at night lo when nobody is swimming.

Then we got back to our room by 10.30am. So i thought I can get some rest before we check-out at noon. Hai.......those guys came over to the room next door to fix the aircond (my in laws previous room). And they make a whole lot of noise lah.....cannot sleep!!!
Then 11something, someone just barged in to our room!!! then when he realized we were inside, he quickly went out and knock the door. Duh!!! aren't you suppose to knock before you come in?? apparently he was here to change the mini bar.

Hai.............it was a beautiful place to stay, if it weren't for the hiccups, it would have been great getaway.

They are also having a contest whereby if you use your maybankcard to swipe, you'd stand a chance to win a beetle (the car). But its not a fair lucky draw loh....you have to be the highest spender to win. Bah......not really a fair contest. I'd rather make it a lucky draw so everybody have a fair chance to win.

Sorry no pics, i checked my camera which have nill pictures of the room alone!! and i thought i told the hubby to take some pictures of the room. Sigh.....he took video instead! and most pictures have us in it.....so i can't post them here. :) arggh....trust a non-blogger with camera.

The room looked something like this

i pinch the picture from monsterhols.com. Its the closest i can find of the room.

You can book the rooms over at The cyberview lodge official website.

Its a great deal.

[Wedding Planning Blog]

A lot of my friends are getting married these days. I have 1 more wedding to attend this month and another one next month....and many more to come too.

This era, the Internet is a very powerful source of information, and thus it is a very useful source for bride-to-be to prepare and find out about wedding preparations before the big day.

If you need wedding planning help, this site http://www.romance-fire.com/ offers some great tips to help you conquer your wedding planning stress. But this site is written by the groom, so maybe there are some things that women are more particular than men. However, i'd say that he does cover quite a bit of details good enough for reference.

Many bride-to-be are getting smarter and smarter these days that they choose to prepare for their big day at least 1 year ahead. This gives them ample time to prepare every details to make the perfect wedding. I remember it only took me a couple of months to prepare for my wedding! haha......and actually there are quite a lot of nitty gritty details that needs to be taken care off! It is best to read and learn from other experience brides so that we don't make the same mistakes.

I think to me, the best way to conquer wedding day problems is to avoid having any expectations. Just have fun and go with the flow, don't fret over little hiccups and just enjoy the moment. This way, you will have a very enjoyable wedding.

KATE Mascara Base

Before i do a proper review of my recent Maybelline purchase. I thought I'd wanna share this with you gals.
If you are like me== totally in love with KATE cosmetics!! You should go ahead to Watsons now because If you purchase anything above RM50, you'd get this Kate Mascara Base for FREE!! Totally FOC you gals!!
I think it is really value for purchase at this time in Watsons. I've always wanted to try out this Mascara Base because I want my lashes to appear longer and Mascara base is the trick.

Kate eyeshadow palettes are among my favorite eyeshadow palettes among drugstore products because of its price vs. quality. It is among the very few that is of a very good quality.
I would have bought KATE if i wasn't distracted by the Maybelline....hehe.....because i just finished watching the taiwanese tv talkshow raving about the Volum' Express! Anyway, Maybelline is giving out Free Lipstick too...and even Revlon is giving out free lipgloss over RM50 purchase....and i think perhaps L'oreal too. Only in Watsons!

Maybelline New York!! - my haul for the day

The hubby dated me out today to go 1U shopping. I jumped at the opportunity because i totally needed some retail therapy to ease my monday blues. kekeke.....

I was at Watsons and I noticed Maybelline giving out a FREE Lipstick with any purchase above RM50. And then i saw the Volum Express Mascara that I wanted......plus the new Eyestudio pallete that I've been meaning to try. I thought...why not! since id be getting a free lipstick anyway! So yey...
I'm back with these 3 items.

Though the banner showed that the Free lippy is the Moisture Extreme....But they gave me the Watershine 3D color pearl. In which i delightedly received cos i've always love the Watershine range. I did not ask to choose the color, am not sure if i am allowed to but i like the one the counter lady gave me, which is the color #21 Red bejewelled.

I'm going to try them tomorrow!! Can't wait to try these.
But you know what, in my haste, i forgot to check the color of my mascara....and only realized that i took BROWN instead of BLACK. oh well.......

Do you gals know that almost every single Taiwanese actress have a tube of Maybelline Volum Express??? I saw a make-up expert in this taiwanese beauty talk show that used them and also highly raved about them. They also raved about this Eyestudio pallet that i bought too. They used them for the make-up demo and boy does the make-over look awesome!

This Volum Express in pink text is an improved version of the similar mascara but in white text.
The talkshow raved about how this mascara automatically curls your lashes upwards plus adds the volume too. Which is what i need cos my lashes are stubbornly straight even after using lash curlers. I heard some of the celebs mention that they bought these mascara by the dozens for fear that it might be discontinued!! Seriously......is it THAT good??!! Well.....will find out the next few days!

Secret Garden Shampoo

I think i found my new favourite shampoo. This is Secret Garden.
I bought the shampoo with the scent called Orient.
Active ingredients are : ginseng, saseme flower, rice extract and aloe vera.
The smell is very nice and refreshing. I love it!

I also bought the conditioner together and it makes my hair very soft, smooth and most importantly it smells great!!! I love it too!

Plus, it retails quite cheap. Can't remember exactly but i think the shampoo was about RM15 or so.

L'Oreal Kerastase Nurtitive Oleo-Relax Smoothing Concentrate

L'Oreal Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax Smoothing Concentrate Care ( Dry & Rebellious Hair )

L'Oreal Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax Smoothing Concentrate Care ( Dry & Rebellious Hair )

During my latest visit to the hair saloon at Kimarie. The stylist used this after the blow dry and recommended that I buy one for my daily use. I've been using them ever since.
This product have a pleasant scent that is not too strong. The texture of the liquid is also not greasy. Perhaps just slightly.....and it does not weight down the hair. I always squirt about the size of a 10cent coin on my palm and work it through my fingers. Then apply them sparingly only at the bottom of my hair. This will help prevent split ends and also helps the hair from looking dry and dead.

I like this as much as i like the Tigi Bed Head, Ego Boost.

Malaysian Dreamgirl, My thoughts

I know i'm late but i just finished watching ma......
it doesnt interest me as much as ANTM(America's Next Top Model) does....Cycle 10 now and I'm uber upset over the recent elimination. She's my favourite!!!

Anyhow, here are some of my thoughts over the show:

1. Elaine Daily is one of my favorite Malaysian model. She is articulate and beautiful.
HOWEVER, in MDG, she came across to me as very CONDESCENDING especially towards Kenny Sia. I mean duh......3 of you are the judges. All 3 of you are experts in your own field. She should show some respect to Kenny instead of dominating decisions and always putting kenny down as if he is some small boy who doesn't know a thing about models or fashion. Duhh.....she forgot this is a popularity contest! in which Kenny is terribly popular. Coupled with the fact that this is ONLINE television, in which Kenny Sia is the "King" of celebrity bloggers! I think he knows more about what people want than Elaine. But if this was ANTM or Malaysias Next Top Model. Then, perhaps she can play Tyra.

2. The title " Malaysian Dreamgirl" to me can be very confusing. The public have no idea what type of girls are they actually looking for. Is she suppose to be a "potential model" or is she suppose to be all sweet and nice like a typical "dreamgirl" a guy would want to bring home to mom?? Does it matter if she is not 5ft 9?? Because "Malaysians" are generally petite.... I think they should set the expectations clearly from the very begining. Even before the auditions. eg. " We are looking for TOP Model Material" So those girls shorter than 5ft7 should just bug off lah...

3. What happend to Jean? Why didn't she even come to the finale and do a catwalk??

4. Where is Sazzy Falak in the finale????!!!

5. The fashion show was just, walk walk walk walk, music, walk..... I thought fashion show should have some commentary while they walk in introducing the gowns....introducing the contestants.....etc?

6. Ringo i love you dear but you look way too skinny to pull off the dresses......I think the cutesy dresses do look good on you though. They shouldn't have given her dresses that make her look like a kid wearing adult dresses. Its not flattering at all.

7. Why do all the girls look so fierce and some expressionless in the runway?? Fiqa is the only one that actually did well with her expression.

8. I don't get the much hate hauled at Cindy. I appreciate her showing us the real person she is in front of the camera. Even though it made her to be the "bitch" of the bunch.....but yet i do not feel hate at all. I think she deserves to win as much as any other contestant. She is definitely not the best among the lot but its a SMS contest. Just like Akademi Fantasia, where someone who sings like Mawi also can win lah.. I don't see people hating Mawi so much because he have a huge fan base that diverse SMS strategies to make him win. Come on, without Cindy the whole show would be such a bore!!!!

9. oh and Elaine daily mention about "don't blame us judges if you don't like the winner" is such a giveaway already. And i think its uncalled for. She should just be professional about it and mention the winner is based purely on SMS and Malaysia have voted (like American Idol)

10. Umm.....and i think that the reasons shorter candidates still went for the audition because the promo showed Sazzy Falak- a patite person. And.....so it automatically generates the expectation as such....the girl should be someone like Sazzy....

OK....10 is enough.....i'd add more if i can think of more...........
Perhaps they can improve on these points next season.
The editing was kinda bad in the first few episodes but they improved towards the later episodes.

All in all, for REAL models in the real world, i would think that Hanis, Jay and Adeline can make it. Adeline gives a great walk in my opinion. She just need to smile more often because she's got a great smile. When i look at Hanis and Jay, i see models already. They just need to work on some varieties.
