Saturday Shopping Spree

I have been looking forward to the weekend because i planned to do some shopping on Saturday. All the stress at work got me in dire need for a fashion refill. Well not exactly a "refill" but more of emptying my pockets...hah....but doesn’t matter. I'm ready to part from a couple of hundreds in return for a sense of satisfaction. Always loved the feeling of buying something lovely and felt proud of it. Thats the way I intend to "recharge" myself this weekend.

I woke up around 10 on Saturday, by the time I got myself ready and left the house was around 11 something. I planned to go to "ji cheong kai" or also known as Petaling Street to splurge myself with a ticket of indulgence or two. PS is a famous for lots of "imitation goods". Although personally I never bought any imitation items despite being tempted manymanymany times. I try my best not to support piracy but sometimes "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak". Why i chose PS as my destination today. Well, firstly I haven’t been there for quite some time, besides, where else is best for me to spend a couple of hundreds as though I’ve spent thousands??!! U see, in PS, you can spend like a mere RM200 and bring back like 5 tops, 2 skirts, 2 dresses and maybe a pair of sandals or two even. Where as if i choose to go to KLCC. RM200 can get me maybe 1 or at most 2 tops.

Thus I chose to go to PS cos I want to come back feeling like some freaking RICH women. heh..

I'm not gonna drive there cos noone ever drives there.....there's hardly any place to park albeit the jam. I drove myself to Kelana Jaya LRT station, grab myself a book and off I went. I think its approximately a 15-20 minute ride from KJ to PS. One thing I noticed in Malaysia is that I seldom see anyone reading in the train. I find that rather strange cos everywhere I go be it Singapore’s MRT or the trains i took in Europe I always see ppl reading. Here, ppl just STARE at others while waiting for their stop. Either that or they'll be chatting on the cell phone. Anywayz, a short journey and im there! ah....shopping heaven!!! I walk a short distance frm the LRT and i found myself walking through the crowd of Petaling Street. Oh did i mention that this is a fine place to get fresh fruits too. Lovely, juicy fruits. Mongos, lychees(seasonal), grapes, oranges, apples and all sorts. You can also find the best "bak kwa" and hot and yummy "roasted chestnuts" fresh frm the furnace.

Coming back to shopping, it didnt take long for me to start flexing my muscles. teehee.......in 15 minutes i grabed myself a cotton short sleeve button top in pink and white. Only RM 13 (approx USD 3.50). And a black a-line skirt with pink and black ribbon belt shown below at RM 39.90(USD10), i got 20% off.

Since i've already got the momentum going, i drop by another shop and starting whirling over the racks and got myself 2 lovely dinner dresses. Cost me less than a hundred on those. (Sorry no pics.)

Already satisfied, I walked out of the shops into the streets to take a look at what the stalls have to offer. Boy I tell you those imitation Diors, Guccis, Pradas, Burberrys and LVs are so so pretty, and it looks very real too. Saw a dior and i just had to ask the price......And this ahpek says RM85 only. OMG.... I exclaimed out loud. "KAM KWAI!!!????" (= so expensive), he then chose to completely ignore me. Probably he thought I couldnt afford it since I wore my old ragged - Lion King T-shirt with a semi skirt-shorts and ahbeng glasses. hmmphhh......who needs em cheapskates......sheeshh......Anyway, at most I think it costs about RM50 for those bags. Tips: Always cut the price by half of what they have to offer. Negotiation skills are a must if you wanna shop in PS.

Feeling rather agitated with the ahpek, I left PS and went opposite the street to Kota Raya. Nothing to see but I still found a pair of lovely slip-on sandals. I really love them. RM29.90 (less than 10usd). The Manolo will be so proud. Before leaving the place I grabbed a necklace with matching earrings with square crystals. Love the square swarovski. RM32.80.

Total amount spent.= RM 190.7

Total items = 1 Top, 1 skirt, 2 dinner dresses, 1 sandals, 1 necklace and a pair of earrings.

Satisfaction level = 9/10

Minimum cash out, maximum satisfaction in. All in all its a good day.

ps. If you want to shop at Petaling Street. You must make sure you really really have an eye for fashion so as to not end up buying trashy items that could very well put you into the fashion hall of shame. heh.....must really really be careful of what you buy cos they have everything.

Saturday Rendezvous

Well, i was in desperate need for my regular therepeutic shopping session so i went shopping on Saturday.
I drove myself to Kelana Jaya LRT station to park my car there and took the LRT downtown to Pasar Seni station and thought i'd go to Petaling Street for a shopping rendezvous.

Turning into the carpark i found myself a pretty parking space, just a couple of steps from the station. I counted myself pretty lucky to find that place coz it was going to rain and that it is usually almost impossible to find a parking lot that near. Ah....a begining of a great day......

I slot my little car, pull the handbreak, came out, lock the car and breezly walk off.

Then this indian boy on a motorbike came over and asked if i would like to have my car washed. I quickly said no thanks no need and continued walking. He tailed me and kept begging me to wash my car saying its only very cheap and we clean very nicely...yadda yadda...... Fine, i asked

me: "how much?"
boy: "7 ringgit only miss".
me: " 7 ringgit ah? sangat mahal la tu" ,
boy: pretending "okla 5 ringgit sajala bagi u, lain kali 7 ya"
me: " mana ada lain kali 7, lain kali pun 5 lah"
(proceeded to take out 5 ringgit note cos i my car totally needs a bath!! cant remember when was the last time i washed my car and there were couple of birdshits here and there so i thought.....okla since im in a good mood i'll give it a go. Afterall, my collegue got his car washed at the same place before and they did it quite nicely.)
So i gave him the note. No receipt, i didnt ask for one either.
me: " ingat ah, mesti cuci. polish cantik cantik"
boy:"yes yes,.......MUAHAAAHAHAAA"

So after my rendezvous in Petaling Street (Details will be covered in my next entry). I came back. It was drizzling and i thought.....shoot, i shouldnt have paid for the carwash. But well, we'll see how well is the job done.

I walk to my car, look from far....hmmmmm......not bad looking. Then go nearer and nearer.....my eyebrows automatically formed the V.
Shoot!!!! I've been doped. The birdshits and whatever shits were still THERE!!!ALL THERE!!!! ARrghhghhhg ....@$#I*$@!@@$$%^&*!!!!!!!! and i dont have any receipt to proof that i've paid for it....

Me: *mumblegrumble mumblegrumble*......(drove the car out of the parking lot and proceed to the toll booth to pay parking) finee.....u do this to me....i will complain to your boss......when i see the guy in the toll booth i will complain about you and you'll get wacked left and right.

I reached the tollbooth, looked into the tollbooth ...." eh....your.....Hey!!!! you!!!!" (The same indian boy was inside the tollbooth collecting money).
me : *take a deep breath*.... *fire fire fire* ...* shoot shoot shoot*..."give back my money"....*fire fire fire*..."shoot shoot shoot"......"complain to your boss then u know".......
boy : "de fella suppose to wash .......go back ledi"
me : " i dont care u gimme back my money or elseeeee"
boy : *looked rather threatened took out the 5 ringgit note.....but then realized i need to pay the parking, then took 3 ringgit and gave it to me.......
me : *took back my money* "hmppphhhhh!!!!! complain to your boss baru tau!" ......drove away

Then the sky was dark and it rained heavily.......i got my free car wash....

Occasional Fashion Tip

"If you're dressing loud, go soft not only on the accessories, but the make-up too." Girls often forget this eventhough it is the most common fashion 101 advise.

Hot day! Its the Vermal Equinox

The entire March is suppose to be very hot for us here. Expecially today (21st March). It is the vermal Equinox or also known as the Spring Equinox. This happens when the sun is at the closest position it gets to earth. The day and the night is said to be of equal length that is 12 hrs of day and 12 hrs of night. Although it is expected to be really hot!!! like it can go up to about 41 degrees?! However it should bring any much of an effect here in Malaysia coz we are located near the Equator (where it is already hot.) We were told to stay out of the sun, shower alot and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. So i was well prepared for the worst. Thus i wore a spegetti strap top with my long pants and a cardigen pulled over ( coz its hot outside but its freezing in the office- somehow the building management crazily set the central aircond to full-blast). This, however to me is really unhealthy. This is bcoz i go out alot meeting clients and all....So when i'm out im soOOOooooosooooooOooo hot and when i return to the office its freezing cold. Such abnormal drastic tempreature variation is not healthy for the body cos your body temperature adjust itself to fit the environment and when situation like this occurs, it makes your body go haywire......Well, at least i felt like that.

Anyhow, it didnt reach 41 deg today. In fact its pretty cooling in the evening cos there was a heavy downpour.

Bearing in mind that this is a Hot Hot month .....i've done some research and found some pretty nice stuff to wear during this hot season.

My GUESS handbag

Remember my previous post about wanting to get handbags from GUESS?

Well, few weeks ago i actually went over to GUESS (The new boutique at 1Utama II) to look for these 2 babies. Tough luck. Apparently i forgot that i'm in Malaysia and we DON"T HAVE ANY SEASONS HERE!!! Thus every item there is.....last seasons, or last last seasons, or last last last seasons..... hehe...Not that i have anything against it. Coz i actually like it this way, everything that i buy can last me like a decade without ever having them going "out of season". OK well, maybe they do have the "new arrivals" on the shelf but i dont remember seeing anything from the GUESS website there. So its either GUESS is not updating their website or WE are not getting the latest designs on time. I believe its the latter.

Same goes to American Idol 4 where ppl in US gets to see them on Wednesdays and we only get to see it on Friday. umm, bad example cos i really think thats a pretty good enough attempt.Bravo to 8TV. OK, a bad example is "America's Next Top Model". Can you believe that we are now only in season 3, in which i already knew who won since like a couple of months ago?? (ahem i happen to follow the episodes via UPN website and fansofrealitytv forum) and UPN is showing the seasons 4 already. ( oh btw anyone knows where i can download the episodes of season3 please do let me know id truely appreciate it, im not able to catch it on TV due to the bad broadcast timing)

So, instead of getting the black one or the white one(see previous post). I ended up buying one in black and white!! at 40% off!!! *clap clap clap* Its something very classic and IMO wont go out of season( like i care ). It has a lovely black & white checkard knits infront and 4 big studs on 4 corners....regtangular shape and fit whatever i need just right. Wish i have a digicam to show you guys but all i have is the digicam on my PDA that is of poor quality and do no justice in the night (no flash).

What inspired me to write about my lovely new bag is that it fetched compliments from a total stranger today while i was waiting at a lift returning from a meeting. This middle aged men was waiting for the lift too and while waiting he just commented "very nice bag" and that led to exchanging of namecards and so on.....hmmm, it could be a lame attempt to get my namecard but oh well, it did make my day. Dont we just love compliments?!
