Acuvue Define Daily Contact Lenses

I
have been using Acuvue daily disposable for sometime now. I bought about 3 boxes so far from the shop i frequent at 1Utama called MOG. I never buy the Acuvue Define because the pricetag was rediculous. I can't remember exactly the price but its something like RM120/box with 15pairs (30 pieces)Retail price is RM140/box. Imagine how much I need to spend per month if i use them every day?? a Freaking RM240!! That alone can get me a new pair of glasses per month.

Well, The Acuvue (normal ones) is not exactly cheap either. I bought them at RM90/box (Retail price RM100/box). I only use them as and when I don't feel like wearing my glasses. Perhaps once or twice per week.
I really cant afford to wear them daily. Its like I'm spending RM6 per day!!! ouch to my wallet leh!!

Recently I bought another 2 boxes of Acuvue totalling up to 5 boxes of Acuvue that i've purchased, Johnsons&johnsons had this promotion that entitled me for a free box. And I can choose the Acuvue Define for FREE. Which was great.
(Too bad they discontinued the promotion already)

So whats the difference between the normal "Acuvue" and "Acuvue Define"??
Take a look at the second picture above. Acuvue Define have an additional black color "ring" to the lense. It works like colored lenses, but the purpose is to enlarge your kornea. The optical illusion makes your eyes seems larger. You know, good for girls who wants to look super kawaii a.k.a japanese/korean cutesy girly look. cue "act cute, open your eyes as wide as possible, suck in your cheeks, minimize your lips...look upwards....tilt head slightly....."ok u get the drift... :> hehe

Suprisingly the lenses is quite comfortable. The ring does not get in the way of your vision, unlike colored lenses that often does that.
However, i do find that the ring although not exactly "black" it is slightly "grey" still look too black for my eyes. I have dark brown eyes, thus the "ring" kinda look visible when i look closely. But not obvious at a distance.
I believe they come up with a newer version of "define" having the "ring" in brown instead of black. But I haven't tried that one.

the one with enlarging effect one is cool, really define your kornea. I don't dare to wear contact lens though, I am scared. I m short sighted but I hardly wear glasses as well :(

Jesus people! Talk about your eyes, but get it right!

Its cornea not "kornea"

Kornea is a country in..Ooops! thats Korea.

But try a bit harder please! Otherwise when we pray or are desperate we will be on our nees.

Or when we have a cold we might sneese.

Or we might try to laugh at a korny joke.

Sail a bote across the seven seaz.

Heck! I didn't invent the language. Blame the Romans, the French, the Germans, the Chinese (Ketchup), the italians (pizza).

But don't copy the first dork that gets it wrong, please!

i was wondering...is this lens soft or hard?

boo: ya...kinda expensive...but i dont use them everyday..

anonymous: hmmm...green eyes?..then you'll see black rims..hehe....i dont think it'll look nice...

anonymous: its soft...actually you dont have to see an optometrist...provided that this is not your first time wearing lenses. If its the first, i suggest to buy from the optometrist so that they can teach you how to put them on.

If you want to just try colors for fun, Freshlook from CibaVision has 1 day disposable colors. Just wear them once and then throw them away. No cleaning, disinfecting or storing. You can also get these, and most other colored contact lenses without vision correcting powers (Plano). So try 'em even if you don't need 'em to see! Have fun!
