I typed the resignation letter last night.
I waited till the end of the day and walked into his room with the letter in hand.
I passed it to him.
He refused to accept it.
Dang........
We talked for a good hour or more......
He asked me what i wanted....i told him its not about the money...
blablabla....end of the day, he rejected the letter......refused to let me go......apparently i am soooooo good.
We'll have to discuss this again tomorrow.........I suppose he'll counter offer ..........I need to cook up better excuses to leave...
Sigh..........attempt#1.....FAILED.

Hey....I'm worse off than you. I'm only one month plus into the job and i hate it already!! :( :( and the worse thing is i just resigned from a job which i was only at for 4 months!!
Before you think i'm a serious job hopper, i'm not. I'm just not happy with my current place. My superior who's supposed to mentor hardly give me the time of the day because she's so busy, and I've nobody to talk to in the office, because everyone is so busy and they're all so much older than me! :( :( the only one who's the same age as me looks as if the whole world owes her money.
She'll only smile at me if she feels like it. 5 jobs later, (this is the first job where i don't have nice colleagues that i can talk to), i finally realised the importance of having good colleagues in the office. I guess you will only realised what you don't have when you don't have it.
GOod luck to me. I"m also very fan, cos i dunno what i wan already or what to do with my life already. :P
This world works in a way which makes us having bad impressions because we actually have to do something really drastic like dumping the dang letter, then only we are appreciated.
Anyway I have an even more worst luck when I was in bank which the boss never counter offer me but instead only compliment me after I left the company like for ages. Which really comes to the conclusion for me that if a boss really appreciates a staff then they should do it while they can and not wait until the staff throws in a dang letter. That one would really give a bad impression to the staff.
Dear springzilla,
i know what u mean...good colleagues are hard to find...especially those who sing the same tune(ngam khee).Well, its not good to stay on a job for less than a year....but i guess for me....i've been through much hellish moments in my recent 4 months than my 4 years in my previous company....which is really a good excuse to make my move...
simple life: ya....i agree....no use to only treasure n appreciate a staff only when they leave....should always appreciate every good thing a staff does....n praise them once awhile....it can motivate a person to work even harder....My current boss picks on every small details done wrong and never praise the good things we do.
